WELCOME TO 42 POINTS
The Independent Training Pipeline for Puerto Rico’s Competition Mathletes
Training Puerto Rico’s High-School Mathletes for International Competitions
42 Points is an independent competition training program specifically designed for high-performing 8th–12th graders across Puerto Rico. Directed by a veteran international instructor with a history of coaching local and International students to successful outcomes at international competitive stages, our small online cohorts provide intensive, weekly academic preparation for mathletes aiming to excel in the island’s competitive ecosystem.
Our weekly 1.5-hour online live interactive sessions bypass standard school memorization to focus deeply on advanced logical proofs and competitive problem-solving strategies. We keep our online classes strictly limited to 8–10 students to ensure direct, uncompromised coaching and analysis. Because this curriculum is tailored to students with an advanced mathematical baseline, entry into our active semester is by invitation only.
When we founded this program in 2018, our initial focus included training international students for high-level global stages. However, as local demand grew within our own community, we chose to pivot 100% of our operations inward to serve the specialized needs of advanced math students right here on the island.
We recognized that while Puerto Rico has immense intellectual talent, year-round supplementary coaching structures are incredibly scarce. Today, we design our small online cohorts specifically to support high-achieving mathletes from the island's premier private, public, and accelerated academic communities who need an independent curriculum that challenges their baseline abilities.
Backed by our head coach’s 20+ years of Olympiad expertise, our mission is straightforward: to provide local students with the intensive, long-term logical conditioning, proof-writing tools, and competitive workbooks required to perform at their absolute highest potential when facing rigorous evaluation tracks, such as local, regional and International Math Olympiad competitions

About Our Leadership & Origins
Founded in 2018 as a specialized academic pipeline, our program combines rigorous international competition standards with a robust operational structure to serve Puerto Rico’s top mathematical minds.
Dr. Kvasov | Co-Founder & Head Coach
Our training methodologies are directed by Puerto Rico’s most experienced Mathematical Olympiad mentor, possessing over 20 years of dedicated expertise in the competitive math ecosystem. Dr. Kvasov holds a Ph.D. in Scientific Computing and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics. He is currently a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Puerto Rico, where he continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of mathematical talent.
As a former decorated mathlete, he transitioned into independent instruction to bridge the gap between standard school math and global competitive platforms. His deep background includes serving historically as an official tutor for the Puerto Rico national team at the Centroamerican and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad (OMCC) in 2010 and the Ibero-American Mathematical Olympiad (IbMO) in 2012.
Over the last eight years within our program, his structured conditioning modules have successfully prepared and guided local students to achieve official placements and medals at the world’s most prestigious mathematical stages, including the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), the Ibero-American Mathematical Olympiad (IbMO) and the Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad (OMCC). He is the author of over a dozen self-published competitive workbooks distributed globally via Amazon.
A. Ramírez | Co-Founder & Director of Operations
Managing the structural blueprint, digital architecture, and long-term scaling strategy of the program. Mrs. Ramírez ensures that our invitation-only learning ecosystem operates at a strict professional standard. Mrs. Ramírez directs the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that allows our coach and students to focus entirely on advanced academic execution.
